Michael BROADBENT'S "Vintage Wine" :

Just one note : an odd magnum taken on christmas Eve to my daughter and son-in-law's and consumed at lunch on Christmas Day. it has a light sediment so I decanted it at 11.15am into an open jug to give it plenty of air. The family were eventually seated around 2.30pm. Not deep, maturing; a bricky sort of nose which survived the crackers and sparklers; a light chaptalised and refreshing drink.

Dec 1999 ** (just). Drink up.

Thomas Wine Tasting :

Two notes :

First bottle opened in Taiwan in the middle of the year 1999. Colored wine, velvet color, thin tannins. Elegant but not exuberant due to the vintage. Medium body in the mouth.

In 2002, another bottle opened in France in a restaurant. The color is now different... all the velvety tannins has disappeard into sediment and the wine show now a brick color.Nose is still elegant with sweet pepper, hint of spice and red fruits. You feel the influence of the vintage and the wine is evoluating quickly.

Notes : This bottle was originally well stored in a stone cellar in France. Label was little damaged due to humidity.
